At Northleigh C of E Primary, our aim is to ensure that all children leave our school with a love and passion for both reading and writing. We strongly believe that this will enable our pupils to flourish during their learning journey during Northleigh and beyond. All staff strive to equip children with the knowledge, skills and understanding to be able to access their full educational potential.
English underpins and is fundamental to all areas of our curriculum. Our thematic approach ignites the children’s curiosity and through this, they are given rich opportunities to apply English skills that are taught within lessons in a fun, engaging and meaningful way. At Northleigh, we pride ourselves on encouraging all of our pupils to become confident and articulate speakers through a variety of spoken language activities such as: performance poetry, debates and our highly anticipated class assemblies that run throughout the year.
