Work with our local Parish

Our Younger Children

Revd Orion Edgar plus Foundation Governor who are part of the Open the Book Team worked with Sue Gilbert from St Peters Church, Cowleigh, to look at the stained-glass windows in the church. Looked at the Altar, the Font and they sat in the pews and enjoyed the quietness of the church.

There was a wonderful experience of PEACE.

The children had lots of questions to ask.

Wonderful photographs on Northleigh Twitter Site.

Our Year 3 and 4 Children

On 28th March the school will Experience Easter, we will explore events in Holy Week in ways that are interactive and stimulating. It is an opportunity to help children feel the impact of the Easter message on their lives.

We like to create the Garden of Gethsemane in the garden outside the church building but this is dependent upon good weather.

  • The stations focus on
  • Palm Sunday – Hopes and Dreams
  • Jesus washing the feet of his disciples – Servant King
  • The Last Supper – Remember Me
  • The Garden of Gethsemane (hopefully outside) – Alone
  • The Crucifixion – Sharing our Sorrows
  • The empty tomb – Resurrection

Year3/4 children spend an hour in the church, approximately 6 minutes at each station. They visit the station in groups of six children giving them opportunities to discuss. They move around the church to visit all stations before gathering at the altar for the story of the Resurrection.
